Summary of thesis

In my thesis I'm using a behavioral and experimental economics approach to study questions about organizational structure and behavior within organizations.

 

In the first paper I apply an adapted version of the gift exchange game to study the effects of cheap-talk communication, e.g. in the form of non-binding promises, on positive and negative reciprocity.

 

In the second experiment that is part of my thesis I am looking at the fairness effects of using market mechanisms as opposed to decisions via authority.
