| Summary of thesis | In an effort to contribute to a more environmentally friendly world, households can invest in energy efficient technologies for their homes. Even though many new technologies have entered the market and have proven to be not only energy efficient but also financially advantageous, households invest too little in energy efficiency. My thesis aims at identifying reasons for why this investment gap in energy efficient technologies persists and how to close it.
