7th Workshop in Behavioral Economics and Experimental Research

September 7, 2019

Prof. Holger HERZ, University of Fribourg

Prof. Christian ZEHNDER, University of Lausanne

Prof. Florian ENGLMAIER, LMU Munich

The workshop offers participants the chance to present their ongoing research. Participants can submit a proposal for a presentation. It is possible to present projects at any stage of progress (project ideas, research designs, completed projects).

Of course it is also possible to participate in the workshop without presenting a paper.

At the end of the workshop Florian Englmaier from LMU Munich will deliver a keynote address. His expertise is on the behavioral economics of organizations and behavioral contract theory.

This year the workshop will take place right after the summer school and in the same location (hotel Alfa Soleil in Kandersteg) and participants are encouraged to subscribe to both events, because the timing foreseen in the program ensures a perfectly smooth transition from the summer school to the workshop. However it is also possible to only participate in one of the two events.

Participants will be hosted at:

Hôtel Alfa Soleil

CH- 3718 Kandersteg

Tel +41 (0) 33.675.84.85

Arrangements will be made by the program coordinator for all the participants.

For students of the CUSO universities (Geneva, Lausanne, Neuchâtel, and Fribourg), IHEID and the University of Bern, the expenses for accommodation and meals are covered by the CUSO. Travel expenses will be reimbursed based on a second-class half-fare return Swiss rail ticket between the university to which the student is attached and the location of the activity (also valid for travel in a private car).

Detailed information on the management directives can be found here.

Participation fees for PhD students affiliated with universities outside of the CUSO network are as follows:

Summer school and workshop: CHF 854 (Sept. 4-7)

Only summer school: CHF 576 (Sept. 4-6)

Only workshop: CHF 190 (Sept. 7); CHF 278 if arrival the night before

External participants also need to cover travel expenses themselves.

The workshop is open to all PhD students in economics, management, psychology and the neurosciences.
